WYLIE MILLER
Singer & MC

Afro-American born Vocalist, Wylie J Miller began his music career in the US navy, then developed into song-writer, recording artist, bass player & vocalist. After leaving the marines, Wylie freelanced for a decade, doing extensive tours and recordings in US and through SE Asia, Japan and China with American bands like Touch of Fire, Bobby Brown's Black Night and Wendi Koh & 66 Jam.

After arriving in Australia in 1996, he acted on TV and played bass guitar for 3 years with Relax with Max, then (with vocals) Funky Fresh, Kaliopi and his own smaller combos. Wylie eventually diversified into comedy performance and radio as well, hosting his own show, Wyliewood, for two years. He also developed an abiding bond with indigenous Australians.

Wylie J joined Grand Wazoo in late 1997, and has been on the Band’s frontline since—including international touring and appearing often in the media. He is Grand Wazoo’s lead male singer and MC, with a velvet Soul voice and a cheeky onstage persona.
