SHIRLEY DAVIS
Singer

Jamaican-English born singer, Shirley Davis, moved to Melbourne in her late teens. She started her career as a dancer, then shifted her focus to singing and acting— studying at the VCA under Suzie Ahern (a former Grand Wazoo vocalist), before freelancing with soul outfits, then joining Grand Wazoo as a full member in early 1998.

Shirley has toured internationally and appeared in the media with Grand Wazoo, as well as in her own right. Her unique vocal input and attractive stage presence, brought her to the attention of producers and media, and she released a popular dance remix album, Deep Face, and was featured in an ABC-TV documentary about her life, during 2005. Shirley also appears in a funk outfit called Soulglo.

After a decade performing in Grand Wazoo, Shirley is the band's lead female vocalist and a favorite with her colleagues and audience.
