Much in demand, he played Trumpet with the Barry Veith Big Band for 9 years, was called to play with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra more than 150 times, performed with the Australian Pops Orchestra, with artists like Barry Humphries, Jackie Trent & Tony Hatch, Ricky May, Tommy Tiko, John Paula Young and Al Martino. He also fitted in Latin and Rock gigs and recorded with Hunters & Collectors.

Chris played with the ABC Showband and for many musicals, while taking session work in radio, television and film. He joined the Police Showband in 1990 and has played Lead Trumpet with them since. He continued to perform with John Montesante’s bands from time to time. Then with increasingly high-note Horn arrangements being added to the Grand Wazoo repertoire, he was invited back into the band in 2005, and has been a regular and vital part of the line-up since.
