Widely respected & gifted veteran,
Andrew began his music career in New
Zealand, where he played piano, guitar,
cello and double bass. He moved to
Sydney in 1980 where he worked regularly
with various artists, including Leon
Berger and Doug Parkinson, prior
to relocating to Melbourne in 1987.
He performed long residencies in major
nightclubs, and played keyboards for
the show, ‘Hair’,
for 450 shows. In 1993 he joined TV’s ‘Tonight
Live’, performing on keyboards/hammond
organ for 5 shows weekly for 40 weeks—backing Tom
Jones, Bob Geldorf, Chaka Khan, John
Farnham & others. He also
performed with Normie Rowe, British
Rock Symphony (Thelma Houston, Eric
Burdon, Glen Shorrock and Stephen Cummings & Les
Stacpool.
Andy joined Grand Wazoo to
cover the demanding keyboards chair
during Peter’s ‘time
out’ and they have subsequently
shared the musical load. He brings
a pleasant, humorous energy and eloquent
solos into the rhythm section mix.
